Cable car museum

For some years now, the valley station of the Seegrubenbahn cable car on the Hungerburg has been home to the "Little Cable Car Museum". It is not only railroad enthusiasts with stories about the Nordkettenbahn who will find what they are looking for there, but also all those who want to relive the old Innsbruck. Here you will find a faithful replica of the very first gondola that ever took off on the Nordkettenbahn.

The setting is a former ticket office, which has been given a new lease of life thanks to metal cladding. Impressive images allow visitors to immerse themselves in times gone by and experience the spirit of days gone by. Above all, the new magnifying slide, which allows visitors to discover the panorama of the Hafelekar in magnification, provides a special experience.

To give guests an idea of technological progress, a new cabin floats in the middle of the room and illustrates how much cable car technology has developed since the 1930s. Finally, an interactive photo album takes visitors on a very special journey of discovery into the world of the Nordkettenbahn. The museum is freely accessible during the operating hours of the Nordkettenbahn.
