For the health and safety of our guests
The following Covid-19 measures apply to the Innsbruck Nordkettenbahnen (as of 23.12.2020):
FFP2 masks mandatory in all cable car cabins, in the Hungerburgbahn and in the stations. The FFP2 masks can be purchased at our ticket offices at a cost of € 2.00.
Masks are mandatory (tube scarf, disposable or cotton masks) on the chairlift and magic carpet.
Please keep at least 1 meter distance to other persons. The minimum distance is not required in the cable car cabins.
All our stations are equipped with disinfectant dispensers in the entrance area of the lifts. Please wash and disinfect your hands regularly.
Please find the latest information regarding COVID-19 measures for hotels, museums, cable cars, public transport and shops in the Innsbruck region on the Innsbruck Tourism website here.
Additional measures
The number of passengers has been reduced:
Hungerburgbahn from 130 to 65 persons
Seegrubenbahn from 95 to 47 passengers
Hafelekarbahn from 69 to 34 passengers
Increase in departure frequency
If necessary, the departure frequency can be increased from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes. The cabins are permanently aired by opening the windows (while driving) and the doors (in the stations).
Regular and extensive disinfection
Regular cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched objects and surfaces such as handrails, handles, doorknobs etc. is carried out in the station buildings, funiculars, cable cars and restaurants.
No queuing at the cashdesks
Please purchase your tickets in advance in the online-ticket shop to help us reduce contact points and avoid queues. This will also enable us to get in touch with you quickly and directly if necessary.
All online tickets (1 – 6 people) can be used directly at the turnstile and therefore do not have to be exchanged at the cash desk. Groups of 7 people or more receive a group ticket, which can be exchanged at our Pick-up Box (contactless and without waiting times) in the Congress station. There is also the option of cashless payments at all ticket counters. Our ticket machines also support contactless sales.
We kindly ask you to pay contactless with debit or credit card if possible.
An FFP2 mask is available at the cash desks for € 2.00.
Queuing areas (cash desks, station buildings) are organized to maintain the appropriate minimum distance of one meter. Wearing a mouth-nose protection (FFP2 mask) is mandatory in these areas. Please observe the signs with precautionary measures.
