An insight into the filming of Servus TV with Heinz Zak.
  • General

Program: Bergwelten - a 50 minute portrait about Heinz Zak in the Karwendel.

The mountains of the Karwendel are the home mountains of the climber and photographer Heinz Zak. He made extremely difficult ascents at the Halleranger (Key to Paradise, 9-, 1987). In 1990 he accomplished the unique and so far not yet repeated speed-crossing of three routes through the notorious Laliderer-Nordwand in 16 hours (Charly Chaplin, 6+, 700 Hm - Northern intersection, 7-, 700 Hm - Schmid Krebs, 6-, 850 Hm).
Furthermore he was able to pass three of the four Karwendel chains in winter alone and the crossing of the Karwendel main ridge (36 summits) in 72 hours is unbelievable!
In the 1990s, Heinz made numerous initial ascents in the Wetterstein and Karwendel.
